Jesse Hill was a member of O.M. Leland's International Boundary Commission parties of 1908 and 1909 in the Unuk, Blue, and Leduc Rivers area of the Coast Mountains. He served as Recorder in 1908 and as Instrument Person in 1909. By 1920, Hill was "engineer in charge" of the surveying party working the Unuk River area. By 1951, he served as Engineer to the United States Section of the Commission.
