Steven E. De Souza was born in 1947, and raised in Philadelphia. Since 1973 he has earned a reputation as a successful producer, director, story editor, and screenwriter of both motion pictures and television shows, most notably for combining action with humor in films such as 48 Hrs and Die Hard. A Pennsylvania State University alumnus, he is among a handful of screenwriters whose films have earned over two billion dollars at the box office.
