Presbyterian minister of Lancaster County, S.C., and Cleveland County, N.C.; native of Midlothian County, Scotland; attended Edinburgh University, 1803; ordained by Presbyterian church, 1815; husband of Mary McIlwaine Ketchin and Margaret Beaty Ketchin; father of Ella Ketchin Cathcart, wife of James Cathcart.
