Biographical notes:

John Gladstone Steele, B.Sc., Ph.D., Th.L., A.A.I.P., A.S.I.A., is a priest of the Anglican Church and a physicist at the University of Queensland. The combination of his interests in bushwalking, botany, and the Australian aborigines enabled him to retrace the patterns of exploration and history in south-east Queensland and have resulted in a number of publications.
