Stewart, James Cooper, 1836-1919.
Biographical notes:
Stewart had a successful career in law and became a member of Melbourne City Council in 1870, and alderman in 1872, serving as mayor in 1885-86. He also acted as the legal agent of the Melbourne Presbytery.
