Ward was born on Apr. 2, 1896 in St. Louis, MO; attended Beethoven Schools of music; wrote film scores for "Cheers for Miss Bishop," "Thanks a million," "All American co-ed," and "Phantom of the opera;" wrote music for the London production of Clowns in clover, and wrote songs, including Who takes care of the caretaker's daughter?, Always and always, Lullaby of the bells, Dreaming of castles in the air, and Anybody home?; became a film executive; he died in 1971.
