Theodore Ward was born on 15 September 1902 in Thibodaux, Louisiana. He began formal literary study at the University of Utah in the 1920s and then studied creative writing at the University of Wisconsin until 1935. Although he never achieved any major literary successes, Ward did receive some popular notice. His plays were known for their controversial subjects, such as anti-Semitism, racism, government politics, etc. Theodore Ward died in 1983.
