Biographical notes:

The corporation's purpose was to conduct an expedition to Africa to photograph and film its people, animals, and natural features, to commercially distribute film, and to obtain animal trophies.

Records concern Talking Pictures Epics, Inc., which was set up to distribute the films, especially "Simba," made by Martin and Osa Johnson during their expedition to study African animals and native peoples. Income generated from sale of film was returned to the American Museum of Natural History to prepare the Akeley Hall of African Mammals.
