Biographical notes:

George F. Richards Sr. resided in Salt Lake City, Utah, and was a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles from April 1906 until August 1950. His assignments included president of the European Mission, 1916-1919; president of the Salt Lake Temple, 1921-1938; acting presiding patriarch of the Church, 1937-1942; president of the Quorum of the Twelve, 1945-1950.
