Alabama Fuel and Iron Company.
Biographical notes:
Organized in 1905 as the Alabama Fuel and Steel Company, the firm was reorganized in 1908 as the Alabama Fuel and Iron Company. It owned coal and iron mines in Jefferson, St. Clair, Shelby, Tuscaloosa, Bibb, and DeKalb counties, as well as brown ore mines and a plant in Franklin County.
