Biographical notes:
Theodore Turner Fogle, Confederate soldier, was born 16 January 1834, in Milledgeville, Georgia, and was killed on 6 May 1864, in the Battle of the Wilderness. Fogle attended the Georgia Military Institute in Marietta, Georgia (1852-1853), and the Baltimore (Maryland) Dental College. He enlisted (1861) in the Columbus Guards (2nd Regiment Georgia Infantry, Company G.), was made a 1st Lieutenant (1864) and served in Georgia, Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, and Tennessee where he took part in the 2nd Battle of Bull Run, and the Battles of Antietam, Gettysburg, Chickamauga, and the Wilderness. Fogle's brothers, William and James, also serving in the Confederate Army, were often stationed near him.
