Biographical note: Architect and Tucson Mayor; Henry O. Jaastad came to Tucson in 1902 and opened an architecture practice after completing a course of study. In 1924, he was elected to the Tucson City Council for two terms; in 1933, he was elected Mayor and served for fourteen years. His architectural practice was involved in many Tucson commercial buildings, schools, churches, hospitals, private homes and more.

Biographical note: Henry O. Jaastad, architect and mayor of Tucson was born in Norway and came to Tucson in 1903. He served on Tucson's City Council for four years before being elected mayor in 1933. He served as mayor for fourteen years. He designed more than forty churches, fifty schools, other public buildings and 400 private homes.
