Harvard Medical School. Department of Anatomy.

Dates:

Biographical notes:

In the late 1950s the Department of Anatomy was home to many professors with a keen interest in cell and development biology. This likely led to the two departments combining staff and resources. In the late 1990s the Department of Anatomy and the Department of Cell Biology at Harvard Medical School separate. The Department of Anatomy around this time becomes the Anatomical Gifts Program. The AGP at Harvard Medical School accepts physical donations from persons who desire to leave their bodies to HMS for education, research and the advancement of medical and dental science or therapy, and manages the use of that gift throughout its time at HMS.
