Rains, Omer L., 1941-
Biographical notes:
Omer Rains served in the Ventura County District Attorney's office from 1966 to 1969. He chaired the Ventura County Bar Association Ethics Commission and the Ventura Planning Commission. He was elected to the California State Senate in a special election in 1974. He served from 1974 to 1982.
He left the senate to run for California attorney general, but was defeated by John Van De Kamp. Rains was active on numerous topics such as education financing, nuclear waste disposal, property tax legislation, and social welfare problems. His primary interests were legal and ethical issues.
