Biographical notes:

Rabbi A.M. Ashinsky was a significant figure in the Jewish community of Pittsburgh during the first half of the twentieth century. An Orthodox rabbi, he was involved in founding many important Jewish institutions, including the Jewish Home for Babies and Children, the Jewish Home for the Aged and Hebrew Free Loan.
