Myron Virgil George was born in Erie, Kansas, January 6, 1900. He attended Kansas public schools and enlisted in the United States Army during the First World War. He learned the printing trade at the Altamont Journal, published by his father, and later served on the Kansas State Highway Commission.
George was elected as a Republican to the Eighty-first Congress November 7, 1950 in a special election to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Herbert A. Meyer. He served in the Congress until 1959. George next worked in public relations for the transportation and construction fields. He died in Parsons, Kansas April 11, 1972.
