Opal Atwood served in the Argentine Mission from October 1957 through October 1959. After serving in the Tres Arroyos Branch in Argentina, she and Hope Kohler were assigned to the Nunoa Branch in Santiago, Chile, in May 1958, where Atwood remained until February 1959, when she was transferred to the Tandil Branch in Argentina. She served the balance of her mission in Argentina: in the Deseret Branch in La Plata (May 1959); the Mendoza Branch (May-September 1959); and the Rio Cuarto Branch (September-October 1959).
