Biographical notes:
The preamble to the Edina Literary and Debating Society reads that the society was formed for the purpose of increasing our fund of general information and for our mental and moral improvement... Membership was offered to any lady student of the University of Deseret who received a 2/3 majority vote and signed the constitution.
