Biographical notes:
Iowa physician and surgeon. Brewer attended Rush Medical College (Chicago, Ill.). After graduation he worked as an assistant surgeon for the Mexican Central Railway in Aguascalientes, Mexico (1896-1898). From 1898 to 1919 he practiced medicine in Wayne County, Iowa and in De Soto in Dallas County, before beginning practice in Des Moines in 1919. During World War I he served as a first lieutenant in the medical corps at U.S. General Hospital No. 11 at Fort Des Moines.
