King, Alice Giddings, 1905-1995
Biographical notes:
Nurse at Busby and Billings, Mont.
Alice Ada Giddings was born on 2 Aug. 1905, the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Giddings. The family moved to Montana in 1910, settling near Billings. Alice attended school at Scandia Elementary School and Shepherd High School before graduating from Billings Polytechnic School. She graduated from St. Vincent's Hospital School of Nursing in Billings, Mont., in 1929. Giddings served in the Army Nurse Corps from 1930 to 1933, and then worked for the U.S. Indian Service at Busby, Mont. Returning to school, Alice earned a B.S. in nursing education from Rocky Mountain College in 1941. In that same year, she married William I. King. After William King died in 1968, Alice moved to Billings. She died on 8 July 1995.
