The University of Chicago chapter of Phi Eta that was established May 28, 1915, for students who had achieved academic honors.

The delta chapter of the national fraternity Phi Eta was established May 28, 1915 at the University of Chicago, as the successor to the Psi Xi fraternity. Graduate students with high academic standing were eligible for membership in the fraternity. Phi Eta suspended activities in November of 1917, in response to the United States entry into World War I.
