Biographical notes:
Owner, nineteenth-century art gallery located at 186 King St., Charleston, S.C.; a native of Massachusetts, Orcutt appears in the U.S. Census of 1860 as a resident of the 4th Ward of Charleston, S.C.; Thomas Orcutt (b. 1834) shared his home; both men are listed in the Census with the occupation of "guilder" [i.e. gilder or jeweler].
