Biographical notes:

Harrie S. Mueller would become president of the Charles P. Mueller Floral Company, which was founded by his father in 1883, and served two terms as president of the Kansas Florists Association, which he helped to organize. A retired Army colonel, he was part of the border expedition against Pancho Villa in Mexico, serving as 2nd Lieutenant in World War I, and was Chief of Staff for the 35th Division during World War II. He retired as director of the Central Security District, headquartered in San Francisco. Colonel Mueller's community involvement was vast and included serving on the Wichita, Kan. City Planning Commission, Wichita Board of Education where he was president for two terms, Wichita Chamber of Commerce Director, director of the Kansas Historical Society, and secretary-treasurer for the Kansas Agricultural Council on Research and Education. A member of Rotary Club for more than 50 years, he helped organize the Wichita Boy Scout Council, which later became the Quivira Council. Harrie Mueller died in 1975. [WSU Foundation. "Harrie S.
