Biographical notes:
Victor Doyen became interested in Malcolm Lowry in 1966 after reading Lowry's Under the Volcano. In 1970 Doyen received a doctoral research grant which enabled him to study the Lowry fonds at the University of British Columbia for his doctoral dissertation.
