Thomas Croxton was born in Tappahannock, Essex County, Va. 8 March 1822. He graduated from the University of Virginia law department and practiced law. He served as commonwealth's attorney 1852-1865 and on Pickett's staff. He served in House of Representatives 1885-1887. He was judge of Essex County and also farmed. He died in Tappahannock, 3 July 1903.
