Twin Harbors Lutheran Church (Grayland, Wash.)
Biographical notes:
Lutheran services in the Grayland-Tokeland area began with Rev. Hove from Our Savior’s of Aberdeen holding services in the North Cove School. A Ladies’ Aid was organized in 1945, and Sunday School was held in the schoolhouse. On March 8, 1953 Dr. Foss, President of the North Pacific District of the ELC, held a service at which 36 children were baptized. On July 23, 1953 Dr. Foss held an organizational meeting, and Articles of Incorporation were signed in November of that year. A site was purchased and groundbreaking took place on October 31, 1954. The first service in the new building was held June 15, 1955 with about 250 in attendance. Dedication was held September 15. The parsonage was dedicated February 5, 1956. At the 20th anniversary celebration on September 15, 1975, Rev. Clarence Solberg was present for the Burning of the Mortgage.
