Scholar Roger Keeran publicly identifies as a member of the Communist Party, and as of 2013, Keeran is the Labor and Policy Studies Coordinator at Empire State College in New York. Keeran has published widely on subjects related to labor, communism, and the Left.
District Council 65 began its affiliation with the UAW in 1979. In 1994, District Council 65 dissolved as a result of bankruptcy.
