Residents of Darlington County, S.C.; Andrew and Sarah Kelso Charles were parents of Robert Kelso Charles (1797-1903), Andrew Blackwood Charles (1798-1818), Edgar Welles Charles (1801-1876), John Kelso Charles (1802-1836), William W.H. Charles (1804-1829), Thomas Jefferson Charles (b.1806); Hopkins Gardner Charles (1809-18840) was son of Hugh Lide and Carolina Augusta Bacot Charles and husband of Margarey Louisa DuBose Charles (1814-1884).
