Biographical notes:
Paula M. Henry and Celia A. Easton were co-chairs of SUNY Geneseo's Year of African Roots in the Western Hemisphere, 1994-1995. Initiated by the College Planning Council, the theme year focused on African cultural contributions to life in North, South, and Central America, and the Caribbean and was highlighted academically and socially on campus with course offerings, lectures, library displays, films, exhibitions, concerts, and other activities.
