Biographical notes:
Lewis Reese, a flour miller and merchant from Reading, Pennsylvania, had extensive business connections with Philadelphia merchants. He was involved with the Schuylkill Navigation Company, which was incorporated in 1815 and offered greater access to Philadelphia for Berks County products.
