Organized in 1707, the Philadelphia Baptist Association was comprised of churches chiefly in New Jersey and Philadelphia, as well as elsewhere in Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, New York, Virginia, and Washington D.C. The primary purpose of this Association was to support local churches by providing collective meetings where churches would exchange information and work collaboratively.
