Journalist.
Born in Australia, Mr. Donald was a newsman in China from 1904 until World War II. Mediator of the Sian Incident in 1936, he was also adviser to Chang Hsueh-liang of Manchuria and later to Chiang Kai-shek and Mme Chiang. Subsequent to Pearl Harbor, he became interned in Manila for three years. After a brief visit to New York City in 1945, he returned to Shanghai, where he died in 1946.
