Biographical notes:

Howard V. Tayler (1968-) is an award-winning creator of the hugely successful wevcomic "Schlock Mercenary."

Born in Florida, Tayler moved to Utah in 1985 to attend Brigham Young University where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Music Composition. Where he went on to co-found an independent record label called "Sanctus Records" which was aimed primarily to an LDS market.

In 2000 Tayler began publishing his webcomic "Schlock Mercenary." Four years later, Tayler left his job as product line manager at Novell to work full time on the webcomic that he continues today.

Tayler has also co-authored the guidebook "Administering GroupWise 5.5," illustrated and published "XDM X-Treme Dungeon Mastery," produces "Writing Excuses" that has run weekly since 2008.
