Biographical notes:
Missionary; born Elizabeth Annette Howard on September 25, 1912; grew up in Canton, China where her father taught at Canton Christian College, 1917-1927; received A.B. in history from Wheaton College, 1933; also studied at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary; served with the Door of Hope Mission in Canton and Hong Kong, 1936-1941.
