Biographical notes:

James Claude Thomson (1931-2002), educator, was Special Assistant to the Under Secretary of State in 1961, and Special Assistant to the President's Special Representative for Africa, Asia, and Latin America from 1961 to 1963. He also served as Special Assistant to the Assistant Secretary of State for Far Eastern Affairs from 1963 to 1964, and was a member of the National Security Council staff from 1964 to 1966.
