Dr. H.L. Kesteven was Director of the Medical Section of the Civil Construction Corps. The Civil Construction Corps was the construction area of the Allied Works Council set up in world War 2 for the defence infrastructure for Australian, U.S. and British forces in Australia. The Civil Construction Corps built roads, airfields, barracks, munitions factories, etc. Items 1 and 18-20 were inserted in the collection by Marcus Ahrens who was researching the history of the Allied Works Council and the Civil Construction Corps.
