Biographical notes:
Joseph Henry Brewer (1875-1943 was a prominent businessman who made his fortune in Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana utility companies; later investing heavily in Grand Rapids, Mich. banks and papers. His wife, Augusta Hillyer Brewer (1873-1967) was active in national garden clubs. Their son, Joseph Hillyer Brewer (1898- ) worked as a publisher, Olivet College president and later librarian.
