Biographical notes:

Stephen Robbins (1758-1847), of Lexington, Mass., was an extensive landowner in Lexington and Lunenburg, operated a general store, and, in partnership with his son Eli Robbins (1786-1856), introduced the fur dressing industry to East Lexington, which aided the growth and prosperity of the area. Robbins was one of the minutemen on Lexington Common in 1775 and served in the Revolutionary army.
