America-Italy Society.
Biographical notes:
The America-Italy Society, a cultural organization, was established in 1918 as the Italy-America Society, and incorporated in 1935. It was inactive during World War II, because of Italy's alliance with the Axis powers, and was dissolved in 1948. In 1949, it was reestablished under its present name. The organization is social and cultural in nature and has as its purpose promotion of friendship, based on mutual understanding, between Italy and the United States.
