Milo Winter was born on August 7, 1888 in Princeton, Illinois. He was an illustrator of children's books, employeed as the chief illustrator for the Silver Burdett Co. and as art director of Field Enterprises. Mr. Winter was the illustrator of many classics republished for children, including Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne and A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens.
