Received his B.S. Degree in Agricultural Economics at Texas A & M in 1947. Served as associate editor (1947-1961) and editor (1961- ) of "The Progressive Farmer" magazine. Member of the Texas Tech University Board of Regents (1971-1978), National Fibers Committee (1971), Coordinating Board For Texas Colleges and Universities (1965-1969), Texas Animal Health Council (1955-1961), Texas Rural Safety Commission (1957-1959), and the National Brucellosis Committee (1958-1959).
