Bernard Albert Diettel, a German immigrant, became one of New Orleans' most distinguished architects of the 19th century.

Bernard Edward Dayries was a planter of Pointe Coupee Parish, La. He married Clothilde Virginie LeDoux, daughter of Zenon and Marie Felicitie Adelaide (Armant) LeDoux.

The Provosty family was a family of planters of Pointe Coupee Parish, La. Olivier Provosty, born 1852 to Auguste Provosty and Eliska Labry, served as district attorney for Pointe Coupee Parish, Avoyelles, and West Feliciana Parishes and served in the state legislature, the 1898 Louisiana Constitutional Convention and the Louisiana Supreme Court. His father, Auguste, was also an attorney of Pointe Coupee, a state legislator (1850-1861), and he participated in the Louisiana Secession Convention of 1861. Auguste's father, Michel Auguste, was a medical doctor of Pointe Coupee.
