Biographical notes:
State oversight and regulatory functions relating to wetlands of the Commonwealth have been exercised successively by the following: the Department of Natural Resources (1967-1974); and since then, within the Department of Environmental Quality Engineering (Department of Environmental Management since 1989), by the Division of Wetlands (until 1983) and then the Division of Wetland Protection and Waterways Regulation, renamed Division of Wetlands and Waterways Regulation by 1988 and Division of Wetlands and Waterways by 1989.
