Historical note: General merchandise store in Mowry, Arizona, operated by Alfred Donau. The Santa Cruz Commercial Company and the Mowry Store are used interchangeably and often times together upon the various invoices and receipts. Alfred Donau is listed in the Arizona Business Directory of 1905-1906 as operating a "general merchandise" in Mowry, a mining camp that was located 14 miles east of the town of Patagonia.
