White, Juanita Greer, 1905-

Biographical notes:

Juanita Greer White was born in Atlanta, Georgia on November 19, 1905. She received her A.B. in General Chemistry from Agnes Scott College in 1926 and her Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Johns Hopkins University in 1929. She was named to Women of America and Who's who in New England in the 1930s. She was elected regent of the University of Nevada, serving from 1963 to 1967 and served in the legislature as an assemblywoman. She was associated with American Association of University Women from 1928 and became very active in the Boulder City branch. Her activities were numerous on the local and state level including being Nevada's delegate to the National Convention for ten years. Her constant involvement and dedication to higher education led to the honor of having a building named after her on the campus of UNLV, the Juanita Greer White Life Sciences building.
