Biographical notes:

Camille Nickerson was born in New Orleans in 1888; graduated from Oberlin conservatory; taught at Howard University (1926-1962); founded B-Sharp Music Club (d. 1917) in New Orleans. Nickerson was a major contributor to the preservation, and interpretation of Louisiana Creole folk music.
