Evangelical Lutheran Joint Synod of Ohio and Other States California District
Because of the difficulty of traveling to Washington District meetings, pastors in California petitioned the district to recommend to the synod that a California District be formed. The first meeting was held in Santa Ana, California, May 31-June 4, 1923.
