Beach, Samuel, 1752-1829.

Samuel Beach was born in Morris, New Jersey in 1752, the son of Gershom and Mary (Salter) Beach. While still a child his parents removed to Virginia, and finally came to Vermont before the Revolution. He was with Ethan Allen at the taking of Fort Ticonderoga and was the first representative of the town of Whiting in the Legislature. As well he was a surveyor, and first delegate to the Constitutional Convention. He died April 10, 1829 and is buried in Whiting, Vermont.
