DePaul University. Faculty Council.
In 1983, DePaul reviewed its governance structure and established Councils to represent various constituents of the University formed Councils to represent the four major constituencies of the University community. The Faculty Council was established as a replacement for the earlier University Senate (1963 to 1983). The faculty is vested with primary governance responsibility for academic and scholarly activities and faculty personnel matters within the University. In addition, the faculty has participatory or advisory responsibilities for many other University-wide issues. The authority of the University faculty to carry out its responsibilities is delegated to the Faculty Council. The Council reports to the Vice President for Academic Affairs (Provost).
