Aldrich, Vernice, 1901-1959
Born July 27, 1901 on a farm near Kempton, North Dakota, Vernice Aldrich was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar M. Aldrich. Vernice attended Central High School in Grand Forks and graduated from the UND in 1923 with a B.A. in English. She earned an M.A. in Geography from UND in 1924, and a diploma in voice from Wesley College in 1935. From 1925 to 1930, she served as editor of Wheat Grower, the monthly periodical of the North Dakota Wheat Growers Association. In 1931 she became the registrar for Wesley College, and was a faculty member at UND during World War II. Vernice authored numerous articles about North Dakota politics, agriculture, and history. She died in a Grand Forks hospital on January 25, 1959.
